How my recipes benefit: Headaches

It isn't stress that causes most headaches, it's what you eat. No one knows that more than I do. By the time I was twelve years old, my mother was taking me to doctors because I was plagued with severe headaches every day. Nothing ever helped. I struggled with migraines and other headaches all of my life. I didn't know what caused them, but I was sure it usually wasn't stress. It was certainly an eye-opening experience for me when I did two things and eliminated nearly all of my headaches. I avoided all man-made food and used only my natural recipes. I also had the mercury fillings in my teeth removed and replaced with non-toxic fillings. Doctors have said that my migraines are inherited. So I wonder why mine stopped when I eliminated certain foods and replaced my fillings.

If you don't think that what you eat or what enters your system in other ways causes headaches, take the time and pay attention. Every time you get a headache, think about what you just ate. Perhaps it's the food itself, or what was on it or in it. Many different additives cause headaches. The hormones and antibiotics etc., in beef often cause headaches. I eat only organic beef or bison. Triggers for headaches can be cheddar cheese, nitrates in processed meats, yeast, wheat, sugar, soy foods, artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors and preservatives. Alcohol can also be a trigger, as well as MSG, which is in manufactured foods including many soups. Fish that contains significant amounts of mercury such as tuna, mackerel, or swordfish can be a problem. The list goes on and on. The simple and uncomplicated thing to do is avoid all man-made foods and eat foods in their natural state. Magnesium helps headaches and is naturally found in the whole grains I use, walnuts, vegetables and fish. CalMax (A link to purchase CalMax online is on my "Links
" page) is the most easily digested and absorbed source of magnesium that I have found. Taking this supplement also helps headaches caused from stiff muscles in the neck. Every day, I still wake up with a smile, and say to myself in disbelief, "I don't have a headache today!" My recipes are the best guides in which to show you a natural way of eating for life.
